MY RECENT FAVORITE :)

Helllo there lovelies!

And my play has finally closed. I've learned so much from the experience. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who watched. It was such an overwhelming experience. We didn't expect that people would really support Orosman at Zafira. Thank you! Thank you to those who watched twice, thrice, four times, and even five times!

To those who didn't get to watch, let's all pray for a re- run. Our next target is the National Theatre Festival in CCP. Then after that, Orosman at Zafira will be part of theatre history.

And I am enjoying my break. Though I'm missing doing something too. Well, I gotta savor my rest because I'll be doing my thesis after a month or two!

Anyway, here are my hauls for the week. Nothing much though. But these pocket bacs are keeping me happy nowadays. Hahaha. Well, they're part of my happiness. I always find happiness in discovering and finding unique stuff. :)

Dya'll wanna know why I'm loving these BBW Pocket bacs? :)

Here's the reason why BBW pocket bacs are my fave beauty items of the moment. It's a cool accessory and a great beauty item! It's such a unique and brilliant way to encourage people to sanitize always. And the holder comes in different colors in designs. I got the pink one so it would be easier for me to spot this hanging on my bags, just in case I would change the bag that I'll use.

Every time people would see the pocket bac hanging on my bag, they'd exclaim how cool it is and would always ask me where I got mine.

I can't get enough of pocket bacs! i want to buy more! :)

**BBW pocket bacs and pocket bac bag holders can be bought from Ruins, Paranaque or in selected PX stores.

Cara Pembuatan Rel Kereta Api

Sumber : http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2...-novokuznetsk/

Langsung aja yah

Batang rel dibedakan menjadi beberapa tipe berdasarkan berat batangan per meter panjangnya.
(sumber)

Keakuratan GPS, GPS Accuracy

To determine an object's location, the GPS system must receive a radio signal from at least three satellites. Since each satellite emits a unique signal, the receiver can then match the signal to the satellite and its orbital position. Distance from the receiver is then calculated (for each satellite), and from that data, the receiver accurately calculates its geographic position. But just how accurate is GPS?
(Browse all the other GPS articles and features.)

What affects GPS accuracy

GPS accuracy is affected by a number of factors, including satellite positions, noise in the radio signal, atmospheric conditions, and natural barriers to the signal. Noise can create an error between 1 to 10 meters and results from static or interference from something near the receiver or something on the same frequency. Objects such a mountains or buildings between the satellite and the receiver can also produce error, sometimes up to 30 meters. The most accurate determination of position occurs when the satellite and receiver have a clear view of each other and no other objects interfere.
Obviously, mountains and clouds can not be controlled or moved, nor can interference and blockage from buildings always be prevented. These factors then, will affect GPS accuracy. To overcome or get around these factors, other technology, AGPS, DGPS, and WAAS, has been developed to aid in determining an accurate location.

Assisted GPS

AGPS (Assisted Global Positioning System) is a system that assists conventional GPS when reception of the radio signal from the satellite is poor or non-existent (line of sight is blocked). To aid in GPS accuracy, the AGPS gains information via a wireless network, such as the GPS receivers on cell towers, to relay the satellite information to the receiver. With this assistance, the GPS doesn't have to calculate the satellite's orbit, which shortens initialization time, and increases battery life.

Differential GPS

To further increase accuracy, DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) technology was developed. Like the AGPS, the DGPS uses a fixed GPS location (such as a cell tower) to send information to the GPS receiver. DGPS, however, looks at both the satellite and the fixed location adjusts for any difference between the two, and then sends that information to the receiver. DGPS is particularly helpful when atmospheric conditions interfere with reception.
The most recent innovation in GPS technology is the WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) developed by the FAA and DOD to augment GPS for air navigation. Utilizing a network of ground-based stations (WRS or Wide-area Reference Stations) which are protected from the public, WAAS transmits corrections to geosynchronous communications satellites, which then transmit the corrections to the user. WAAS was designed to allow aircraft to rely on GPS for all phases of flights, including precision, or "instrument only" landings. Specifications for WAAS require accuracy of 7 meters or better both vertically and laterally, 95% of the time. In practice, WAAS achieved a lateral accuracy of 1 meter and of 1.5 meters vertically when over the contiguous United States. Read more on how WAAS works at WAAS Explained.
Many GPS manufacturers market their products as the more accurate, or having greater sensitivity than their competitors, but the bottom line is that GPS accuracy depends on the GPS technology in use.

HAULS OF THE WEEK

Haul time!
I apologize for the last two pics. I forgot to rotate them. But they're quite clear. So thanks for making the extra effort of tilting your heads to get a better view of what I bought. hehe. :)
Anne Chun's all- natural thai noodle. Not the best option since it's loaded with sodium, but it's probably the best and the healthiest instant noodle that you can find. Well, I'm not indulging in it. I just want to try it, and I will eat it tomorrow since I'm burning my ass off in Orosman at Zafira. I also got myself some raw almonds.

Stuff for my inaanak's first birthday. Whew. First part of the birthday saga that could possibly go on for years haha. Hello, budget! :)

I finally got myself an Envirosax bag. Style is called Origami. I finally have a bigger sack for my laptop, extra clothes, and food!

HAVE A HAPPY WEEK! :)

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: NOXZEMA DEEP CLEANSING CREAM

Here's an initial review on NOXZEMA DEEP CLEANSING CREAM

PRICE: 75PHP
PLACE BOUGHT: THE DOLLAR STORE, MARKET, MARKET, FORT BONIFACIO GLOBAL CITY, TAGUIG CITY
OTHER LOCATIONS: PCX STORES

THE VERDICT:

When you were younger, have you ever used something unforgettable that your mom or grandma used to own? In my case, I can't forget my grandma's three flowers hair pomade, and mom's big tubs of Noxzema Cleansing Cream.

I was strolling in Market, Market one day, then I came across The Dollar store. I love this store because I get to buy unique and cool US goodies. And good thing I dropped by, because I finally encountered one of the most memorable things that defined my childhood.

Mom used to use Noxzema. Every time she would come back from an out-of-the-country trip, she would bring home tubs of Noxzema. As a child, it reminded me of puddings (but I didn't try eating Noxzema :D), and it seemed like a toy to me. Dipping my tiny fingers in the eucalyptus- scented gunk was heaven for me every time I would take a bath. When I was younger, mom used to use this on my body. And I can still recall how it gave me a tingle after every wash. I still remember the minty fresh feeling that it leaves my skin every time mom wipes me dry.

Times change, and so are a person's preferences. Then mom moved on from using Noxzema. As I grew up, I lost my love for it, and moved on to discover a hundred more products.

I was strolling down memory lane as I held the small tub of Noxzema. I opened it, and its original, refreshing scent still remained. I just got one to test the product, because I don't know if it will still work perfectly on me, like how I used to remember it.

I tried it when I got home. And it's still the same old Noxzema that I used to love! Let me tell you why I love this cleansing cream.

The eucalyptus scent might bother some, but I can completely tolerate it. It's a cleansing cream that doesn't lathers up. The formula of Noxzema is soap- free, which is why it leaves your skin moisturized after washing, sans the dry feeling that soapy facial washes give.

Another great thing. It completely removes make- up, and it gives you a refreshing, tingly feel. And the best part, it didn't give me any break outs.

I had my friends try Noxzema and they're smitten with this product! Some observations are the ff:

"My face looks so fresh after washing!"
"I'm sensitive to commercial facial washes. But this one didn't break me out!"
"My face feels really clean."

This facial wash is recommended to people with combination skin. The minty feel helps keep oil at bay, while the moisturizers soothe dry skin. It will also work for oily and dry skinned people.

And now, they're asking me to buy them a tub. After I finish my TFS Mung Bean facial wash, I might go back to my first love, Noxzema. :)

ON A LIGHTER NOTE, I RECEIVED A PLEASANT SURPRISE

As I was feeling hurt while watching the news, and hearing the comments regarding yesterday's Hostage Crisis, and at the same time, shaking my head at Venus Raj's MAJOR answer in the Q&A portion, something came just in time to brighten my day.

Ladies, meet Andy. :)

Andy is a 1800php pink diva make- up train case. :)

Sweet! It's pink! It's cute! It's lovely! :)

Material is made of wood, that's why it's lightweight. :)

And it's bigger and more spacious than I thought! Definitely bigger than Karl! :)

And it comes with a key to prevent make- up theft. :p

I'm soo excited to use this! And to those who are interested, I am selling Karl, the make- up traincase. He's all cleaned up now. I will be providing pictures soon. Though it breaks my heart, I have to sell him because more storage means more reason to shop for make- up, and I think I have more than enough. It's also a great way for me to budget my expenses. To those who are interested, please contact me at 0917 849 5018. I am selling Karl by Markwins Professional Alloy Traincase. In mint condition. Price is 1200php. Shipping is free, and I'm willing to do meet- ups :)

ON IGNORANCE, INCOMPETENCE, AND INJUSTICE: THERE WAS HOPE FOR MENDOZA AND HIS CAPTIVES

Photo taken from msnbc.com

Yesterday, the whole world is mourning for those who died in the tragic end of the Quirino Grandstand Hostage Crisis.

It was a happy day for the final leg of the Chinese nationals', which is a trip to Ocean Park, before leaving in the afternoon for Hong Kong. And they have never thought that they would be the subject of a disgruntled man named Inspector Rolando Mendoza.

I have been hearing and reading messages in different social networking sites expressing how disgusted they are with the PNP, and how they despise Insp. Mendoza's evil and selfish deed.

On the take against Insp. Mendoza, I beg to disagree.

According to Jean Jacques- Rosseau, man is naturally good, but civilization and society warps him. Is crime a natural choice for man? Or is it because man is left with nothing but to commit crime to survive?

If the civil government or a single ruling power is supposed to maintain peace and order, why are there criminals? Why are there deaths, disgruntled military and police officers, and endless poverty due to graft and corruption? Didn't it ever occur to those who are blaming Mendoza for putting justice in his own hands, that there is no such thing as justice to the small men in this country?

I am biased in this situation because I know that Insp. Mendoza is a good man. He was awarded in 2008 as one of the most outstanding policemen in the country, and was a runner- up again in the recently concluded most outstanding policemen awarding ceremony in 2009. How did I know? My mother was one of the judges in the 2009 ceremony, and the credentials of the candidates were reviewed. I managed to check Insp. Mendoza's, and as far as I can remember, his records are clean. And according to an interview, he's passionate about his work, and is so proud to have been awarded as one of the most outstanding policemen. Though he didn't reach the top posts in his lifetime of service, he still remained happy and contented, and have offered his life in serving the country, and has become a role model for the younger policemen.

I am deeply hurt because I know that the man is naturally good. And for him to become evil, something must've really oppressed him. I have to admit that I cried last night after knowing how his life and the lives of the innocent tourists have tragically ended. I wasn't directly affected, but apart from the deaths, I am lamenting more at the death of justice in our country.

I am totally against his deed. But can you blame the man? He has lost his sanity somewhere along the way. And it's not as if he didn't try going through the due processes. It came from him that he appealed his case, and the Ombudsman did nothing to solve it. He was easily kicked out from his position that he has worked so hard to reach.

Justice delayed, is justice denied. All that the man is asking is a piece of paper from the ombudsman, for them to clear his name, and he will surrender. Why can't they give that to him? It just goes to show that there was a big hullabaloo in his termination. That's why the man has put the matter in his own hands.

And the incompetence and ignorance of the PNP are to blame for the tragic end of the hostage crisis. For Christ's sake PNoy, why are you applauding the PNP for their courageous act? Almost everyone died in the bus when in fact, they could've been saved! And they say that the media has blown the story out of proportion, given the fact that they serve as the monitor for Mendoza and the outside world? C'mon, I'm pretty sure, if there was no media coverage, the PNP would have rained bullets and bazookas on the bus without even thinking of the innocent lives inside! All that they care about is to shut Mendoza's trap once and for all before he names all the demons in the PNP.

The PNP should know about a thing or two about Psychology. A hostage- taker is not in his/her proper state of mind. It's a do or die situation for them, and further threatening them will not make them surrender. Did they think that arresting Mendoza's brother is the only way to solve the problem? Let us consider that killing everyone may not be part of the plan, because according to the survivors, Insp. Mendoza was calm at first and is asking for justice. He wasn't threatening anyone until some brilliant police suggested that they arrest Mendoza's brother and use it against him. In a sense, the PNP is to blame for the hostage crisis' tragic end. The best thing that they could have done is to dissuade Mendoza and arrest him. That way, there would be no bloodshed.

It just goes to show that these incompetent and stupid policemen are trying to replace their failure by arresting an "accessory to the crime". C'mon. You gotta be kidding me. It's so funny that they started pulling crimes and charges out of thin air so that they could repress Mendoza's brother. Talk about INJUSTICE.

And to end this note, I do believe that the man is innocent of the crimes charged against him. We have seen his house in Tanauan. It is not too good for a policeman who's earning 19k a month. They have two cars because their parents have money to somehow afford a good life for their children.

And if Rolando Mendoza is indeed, a fugitive, why would he roam freely? Why isn't he behind bars? Why didn't we hear this in the news? Why would someone make a scene if he/she is guilty? Case in point: Panfilo Lacson. All evidences are pointing to him as the brain behind the notorious Kuratong Baleleng Gang. If he was indeed innocent, he would do the same thing. Another case in point: Jun Lozada. If the man was indeed part of the ZTE scam, would he risk his life and his family for his crusade against corruption if what he's saying is not true?

Let us remember the case of Jun Ducat. He was a good man, until society pushed him to do harm, for him to do good.

There are a few good men in the service. And it is so sad that justice itself is turning them evil not because they want to, but they have to.

I PRAY FOR THE REPOSE OF THE SOUL OF THE CHINESE NATIONALS, INSP. MENDOZA, AND MOST ESPECIALLY, THE JUSTICE IN THIS COUNTRY.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: MAYBELLINE LIP AND EYE MAKE- UP REMOVER

Here's an initial review on MAYBELLINE LIP AND EYE MAKE- UP REMOVER

PRICE: 99PHP

PLACE BOUGHT: FIRST AID, GREENBELT 3, MAKATI CITY

OTHER LOCATIONS: MAYBELLINE COUNTERS IN ALL MALLS NATIONWIDE

THE VERDICT:

I'm kinda' tight on the budget as of the moment because I am still awaiting my paycheck from a previous play, and I am preparing myself for the Disney Venomous Villains Collections by MAC. As much as I want to buy a cleansing oil at least from Etude House, I can't because I have to budget my expenses. I badly need one because the current play that I'm in, which is Orosman at Zafira, requires a lot of face and body paint!

I hate using baby oil because it leaves my face greasy, even after washing it thoroughly with soap and water. I discovered this through a friend. On my first trial, it worked pretty well so I decided to use this as of the moment.

I was hoping to buy the 70ml bottle, but the Maybelline counter in First Aid only has the 40ml size. Since the show's about to close, I figured that this will last me until the end.

Let's now review this product.

Size is compact, so it fits anywhere, even in your make- up kit. So it's perfect to bring when you're traveling.

The consistency is oil and liquid. I am guessing that the liquid sorta' neutralizes the oil so it won't feel too greasy once applied. 2- 3 drops can remove a good amount of eye, and a bit of face make- up.

This make- up remover promised to remove even the toughest waterproof make- up. Let's see how this will work on my Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner, the toughest waterproof eyeliner there is!

Well, it did remove my eye make- up easily. But for the eyeliner, it required at least two cotton pads for each eye with the make- up remover. This just goes to show how tough Revlon's eyeliner is!

Sadly, it didn't remove the lipstick stains on my lips and face completely.

Overall, it's a good choice if you're on a budget or if you just want to buy a make- up remover for daily use. But professional make- up brands can be quite tough, so they require heavy duty make- up removers. For now, this will do because I can't afford to shell out some moolah for a more expensive (but better) one. For daily use, I will recommend this. Why not? It's cheap, and it works perfectly fine. But for professional use, I suggest you try cleansing oils.

**Maybelline Lip and Eye Make- Up Remover comes in a 40ml and 70ml bottle. It is opthalmologically and dermatologically tested.

A FAVORITE VANILLA SCENT OF MINE (A HAUL POST)

Haul for the week. :)
I will tell you soon why I think that Warm Vanilla Sugar is the best vanilla- scented fragrance for me. :)

Rabu, 18 Agustus 2010

Little big dream

My SL dream has just come true. The one I thought I would have to wait years to happen. It is coming true as I write this sentence. I'm talking about realtime full body motion capture in Second Life. Just think about it, oh, the new horizons! Communicating with people the natural way, actually dancing in clubs, using body movement to do basically anything in SL.

You know, I was always hoping we - the people of XXI century - would strive towards more movement in front of our computers, since they are taking a huge part in nowadays life. It really makes me happy to know about this initiative. Let me show you the movie (found via Hamlet's site):

Impressive, no? Anton Bogdanovych, your work is absolutely fantastic in so many ways! I hope this project gets more attention, and by the time the software is ready to use, there will be a few companies ready to provide cheaper equipment for consumer market / personal use. This is going to be big!

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: KENZO FLOWER EDP 100ML

Here's an initial review on KENZO FLOWER EDP 100ML

PRICE: GIVEN AS A GIFT (APPROXIMATELY 4000PHP+ IN MALLS)
PLACE BOUGHT: GIFT (CAN BE BOUGHT FROM MALLS AND http://leperfumerie.multiply.com)
OTHER LOCATIONS: ONLINE RETAILERS, BEAUTY BOUTIQUES, MALLS, Le Perfumerie: House of Scents

DESCRIPTION (taken from fragrancex.com)

Kenzo Flower perfume by Kenzo, Flower is a contemporary fragrance for the modern, city woman who looks to nature for inspiration and renewal. Flower by kenzo. A flower in the city. Wild hawthorne, bulgarian rose, parma violet, cassia, hedione, cyclosal, opoponax, white musk, vanilla.

THE VERDICT:

Kenzo Flower is part of the roster of my favorite perfumes. I love floral- scented perfumes that's why it's in my list. It's perfect for night occasions due to its strong scent. It can be a bit too overwhelming if you put too much, but it smells beautiful if you put just the right amount.

Flower by Kenzo is indeed, a floral scent. No fruity, spicy, or tangy hints involved. It is a fusion of flowers that you can associate with romance, which makes this perfume smell romantic. It's not a summer scent though because there's a certain warmth with the fragrance.

At first spray, I can smell the fusion of flowers (I don't want to sound assuming so I just collectively addressed the floral extracts used in this perfume. I don't even know what hedione, opoponax, and cassia smell and look like! :D) The bulgarian rose is the dominating floral scent. Then shortly, the musk starts settling so as to tame down the florals. I can't quite smell the vanilla in it because it's floral. Period.

Interestingly, though the sillage of this perfume is high, it managed to stay the whole day, at least on me. Maybe it works with my body chemistry as well. Whenever I am wearing this scent, I only need to spray again once. Or twice, if I feel like it.

The bottle is pretty. It gives you an imagery of a plain ol' vase with a dainty flower in it. But unfortunately, this is quite a pain in the a$$ to bring because the bottle is as big as a vase! No kidding! If you could only see this bottle in actual, you'd really say that "Boy, that's a H-U-G-E bottle!". Methinks that this is a special edition size. As far as I can remember, the 100ml is not as ginormous as this one!

If you love floral scents, I suggest you try Kenzo Flower. It smells feminine, beautiful, and sophisticated. It doesn't smell like your average floral perfume with cheap- smelling flowers in it. So far, it's one of the unique- smelling floral perfumes I've ever owned.

SCENTSATIONAL: FRAGRANCES THAT I LOVE

Let's move forward to a positive post! Here is a list of the perfumes that I would buy over and over again.

KENZO FLOWER
- A sophisticated floral perfume. Doesn't smell like your average cheap- smelling floral perfumes

ECLAT D' ARPEGE BY LANVIN
- Though the sillage of this perfume is high, I still love this scent! It's a perfect light, simple, and refreshing scent. It never fails to receive compliments whenever I am wearing this perfume. And most importantly, hubby loves it too.

JEANNE BY LANVIN
- Smells light, sophisticated, and pretty. Definitely a scent that would go with my personality. :)

BATH AND BODY WORKS WARM VANILLA SUGAR
- The best- smelling vanilla scent that I've come across. It's totally wearable, and it smells warm and sexy.

VICTORIA'S SECRET MERRY VANILLA TWIRL
- Reminds me of my most favorite time of the year, Christmas. It smells like freshly- baked gingerbread man cookies!

GUCCI ENVY ME
- A classy scent that's perfect for special occasions. It's another floral- scented favorite perfume of mine. Doesn't smell cheap and common too.

DAVIDOFF COOL WATER FOR WOMEN
- A timeless scent. It's a rejuvenating and uplifting scent that smells beautiful and fun.

BATH AND BODY WORKS JAPANESE CHERRY BLOSSOM
- This fruity and fun scent gives you this I-just-stepped-out-of-the-shower smell and feeling

THE BODY SHOP MOONFLOWER
- Unfortunately, this wonderful scent has been pulled out. It smells magical, and it smells sexy. I hope that The Body Shop brings it back

PHILOSOPHY'S FALLING IN LOVE
- The sweet scent is not overpowering. And it smells like candy! Definitely a light and cool romantic scent.

HOW ABOUT YOU? WHAT ARE YOUR WELL- LOVED FRAGRANCES?

UNSCENTED: FRAGRANCES THAT I DISLIKE

Here's a list of the fragrances that I don't like. Well, I don't necessarily hate them, but they are the last thing that I'll buy. No bashing or offensive comments please. This is based on my sole preference and opinion. :)
ELIZABETH ARDEN GREEN TEA
- It smells just like your average green tea scent. Nothing special with it.

VICTORIA'S SECRET LOVE SPELL
- It reminds me of the smell of taxis that would always give me a migraine.

VICTORIA'S SECRET ENDLESS LOVE
- It smells like Tempra, the fever medicine.

TOVA SIGNATURE
- It smells good, but it smells like Avon's Sweet Honesty cologne. Totally dupe- able.

VICTORIA'S SECRET VANILLA LACE
- Tooooooo sweeeeetttttt.

CHANEL N5
- Maybe if I'm a little older, I'll learn to appreciate this scent. It's just too mature for me, I guess.

ANAIS ANAIS BY CACHAREL
- It smells like jasmine. Might as well buy the essential oil, but only at a fraction of its cost.

GUCCI RUSH
- It gives me a migraine.

BURBERRY TENDER TOUCH

- Doesn't smell tender at all! The smell is overpowering!

BVLGARI PETIT ET MAMANS

- Buy Johnson's baby powder instead. It's cheaper.

ANY MANGO- SCENTED FRAGRANCES
- It gives me a migraine as well.

BATH AND BODY WORKS CUCUMBER MELON
- This scent doesn't really appeal to me at all
