THE VERDICT:

Here's my 2nd tube of Rouge Pur lipstick. I absolutely fell in love with the formulation! Though I have to admit that the price is quite steep. I wasn't actually planning to get any lipsticks but I just fell in love with the color. :p

Rose Pink is a nude pink lipstick. It has no shimmers whatsoever. It is in the satin variant.

One of the reasons why I fell in love with the Rouge Pur lipstick is because of it's luxurious consistency. It feels so lightweight yet it gives a good pigmented coverage. It's a tube of pure color. What do I mean by saying "Pure Color". The fact that it's lightweight means that it's not loaded too much with wax (or whatever they use to solidify lipsticks) to thicken the actual product, which can be one of the reasons of color inconsistencies in terms of the swatch and the actual color of a lipstick. It has an expensive- smelling perfume scent that might be bothering to some. And the color doesn't change at all once you apply it on your lips. In fact, the color of the lipstick on the tube looks so accurate when compared to the lipstick color on your lips (Refer to the picture above), which goes to show that a tube of the Rouge Pur is packed of pure color.

Sorry for the uneven application. :) Oh, this baby also has SPF 8 to protect your puckers in style. :)

I would absolutely love to purchase another color. But in the meantime, I'd have to at least create a rounded edge on all my YSL lippies 'cos I've bought the three tubes just this month! YAY! :)

END OF THE WEEK'S HAUL

So I chanced upon this 50% for everything sale in Bayo, Powerplant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City. They usually have sale seasons where they'll showcase all their overstocks at clearance rates. I always make it a point to shop in sales like this for clothes because you'll always find a good buy even if the stocks are pretty old. In my case, I had a lovely haul tonight.

Here's my non- beauty haul. Good thing I was able to control myself from getting anything from The Beauty Bar or MAC! :p

And it's time for me to buy myself a bag. :)

AND MY LIPSTICK PROJECT IS COMING TO AN END...

And finally, OPERATION: LIPSTICK is coming to an end. I have 5 more to go to complete my collection. And I will stop. And these 5 items that will conclude my project are on their way to me. At the end of November, Operation: Lipstick will be accomplished.

So I have to stop hauling cosmetics. And I mean it. As you have noticed, I've been hauling like crazy for lipsticks since September because that's the month where my operation started. There were fatalities, namely Lola, MAC, Nyx and Laura Mercier, all that I rarely or don't use at all. And these lippies are being sold.

Don't worry, I won't be missing in action. Every now and then, I'll post anything related to beauty and mostly, my life in general. Of course there'll be hauls every now and then but not as crazy as my lipstick project days.

Christmas is coming, I have gifts to come, and apart from lipsticks, I've still stuff to buy for my stash (especially eyeshadows), but one thing's for sure, it will not be as crazy as my lipstick project.

So I want to congratulate myself for accomplishing OPERATION: LIPSTICK. :)

END OF THE WEEK'S HAUL

So I paid the YSL counter a visit last thursday because I wanted to check what my Perfect Touch Foundation shade is so I could score a tube in the ABCI sale. Unfortunately, the shades are too white! Not one would even fit an NC40 gal. Sheesh, wrong move Rustan's. You should've gotten some dark shades! The darkest, which is 8, is still too white. So the Perfect Touch Foundation is already out of my list.

I tried some of the lipsticks and I fell in love with the Rouge Pur 141. It is just an accidental purchase (argh). But I really can't take the color off my mind. And Errol, the SA told me that there are a few stocks left (I saw the stocks. There are only 5 left. Now 4 because I got one). So I reserved one and went back for it yesterday.

THE VERDICT:

Okay, the reason why I've hated Rouge Volupte is because how weird the mousse- texture of the lipstick is and how it looked like gunk on my lips. It literally goes off and it feels heavy. I swore not to buy any Rouge Volupte lipstick anymore.

But since it was on sale in the ABCI sale, I guess it wasn't a pretty bad idea to try one. It would be easy to sell it off (since it's literally cheap for an RV) if it turned out like the ones in the YSL counter.

Let's start with the packaging. I give it a 10. It's gorgeous, exquisite and unique. Really expensive- looking. It comes with a pamphlet with the description of the product in several different languages. I think the pamphlet thing is not needed. It's practically useless, and most especially, it's a waste of our trees.

It also has a mirror at the top of the cap, which is quite useful when you're on the go and you don't have time to pay the powder room a visit.

There were 5 shades available and I found this shade the one that suited my taste the most. I was actually leaning towards to getting the Lingerie Pink shade but I was too afraid that it might wash me out.

Rose Epice 20 is described by YSL as a Spicy Pink shade. It's more of a pink chocolate brown shade for me, though I could pretty much agree that this is a pink shade with a dash of brown spice. :p

Anyhoo, Surprisingly, it didn't turn out to be the Rouge Volupte that I hate. It was absolutely creamy, not mousse-y, and it glided on like satin on my lips. It just feels so light and lush on my lips. It didn't look any of the gunky feeling RVs in the YSL counter. And it didn't feel heavy on my lips at all! It's absolutely featherweight.

It also had this fruit- smelling perfume scent. But that doesn't bother me too much. However, to those who prefer their lipsticks unscented or uber light- smelling, this may not be the one for you because YSL's lipsticks quite have a strong scent.

This also lasted quite long on my lips. I drank, ate and voila! There's still some of the lipstick left on my lips. :)

Overall, I like this. I don't know how in the world did the consistency and quality of the RVs in the YSL counter turned bad. But take it from me, it really is great after all if you get a fresh one. I'm planning to try one again, and I'd prefer to purchase it over the YSL counter in the ABCI sale again!

RESTAURANT HOPPING: MANSOS GREEK TAVERNA, TAGAYTAY CITY

For this weeks, restaurant hopping, let's take a look at the menu of MANSOS GREEK TAVERNA TAGAYATAY

This is a loooong overdue post. Haha. But I'd still wanna share cos this restaurant is da bomb! :)

PRICE RANGE: 150- 500PHP

LOCATION: TAGAYTAY (IT'S ALONG THE ROAD)

Hubby and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary last July 07, 2007. One of our theater friends suggested this restaurant because it's quite famous in Tagaytay. So we went the extra mile though there are tons of restaurants in the metro that are still left to try. Anyway, it's our anniversary so why not celebrate it in Tagaytay? :)

Their menu boasts of Greek meals that are quite easy on the budget, yet big on the taste. Here's what we ordered:

SAGANAKI (BRAISED VEGGIES WITH FETA CHEESE, SHRIMPS AND GREEK BREAD)

MOUSSAKA (FAMOUS GREEK DISH. LAYERS OF GROUND LEAN MEAT, BECHAMEL SAUCE AND CHEESE)

GRILLED LAMB MEAL (WE'VE BOTH DISCOVERED HOW CALAMANSI GOES SOOO WELL WITH GRILLED LAMB!)

I would really go back to this place because the food's great without being too expensive. There were a lot of couples eating there during the time we ate there, which goes to show that it's the ultimate getaway resto for couples. The ambiance and the overall feel of the place is just right. It's not extravagant, but it's quite decent but peaceful. Perfect for that getaway with your loved one. :)

And here's an little extra. Hubby and I had coffee in Starbucks after our GREAT meal. :)
