THE VERDICT:

The Peel- Off Mask is the face masque trend nowadays. And as far as style is concerned, I'd like to think that I'm not into the hype, though I've had my share of trying and buying. The thing about peel- off masques is, it feels like I'm in a total Face- Off (yes, I'm talking about the movie) procedure. It dries my skin and my face stings big time right after peeling! I always prefer the rinse- off masks 'cos they feel more moisturizing than the former.

I've been reading about this Queen Helene Face masque in a forum. And apparently, it has a lot of good feedbacks. The one that they are raving about is the Queen Helene Mint Julep masque.

I've chanced upon this one and only tube of Queen Helene masque yesterday in the facial care rack of Healthy Options while my friends and I were shopping for some food and snacks. I bought this though this is not the Mint Julep type. I just want to try it for the sake of trying it. 

The tube's pretty big for 329php so when you come to think of it, the price is not bad at all.

Let's now review the product. Let's see what the rave is all about.

The color of the masque is rosey- beige. And the consistency and texture of the mask is thick, whipped, and creamy. It brought me back to the days where I used to use St. Ives' Mud Mask (Is this still available locally?). But what I don't like about St. Ives' is, I'm always having a hard time rinsing it off of my face!

This masque has a very nice smell. It smelt like an exquisite rose perfume. I love love love anything rose- scented. :)

I also like the fact that it spreads easily. But I apologize for looking like a person with third degree burns in my photo. I really don't have the skills in applying masques evenly. :p

During application. I can feel a wee bit of tingling sensation on my face. But after a a minute, it disappeared. Hmmm... maybe that could be the English Clay at work.

After 3- 4 minutes, the masque starts to tighten a bit. Then it dries off to a chalky finish after 5- 6 minutes. But it doesn't feel too tight, making your face feel as if it's cemented on something. 

After 15 minutes, I rinsed the masque off of my face. And I love the fact that it washes off easily!

Right after washing my face thoroughly with facial foam and water, my face felt really soft and smooth. It feels as if I've had a facial treatment! I've also noticed that my face looked dewy and refreshed after it dried up completely.

I had my masque session two hours ago. And my face still feels soft and smooth! YAY! 

Now I see what the rave is all about. Queen Helene Mask is love! The Beauty Junkee recommends this! Whether you'll try Mint Julep or Natural English Clay, I'm pretty sure any of these variants will impress you!

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: ZOYA NAIL POLISH IN DEMI

THE VERDICT:

The thing that I like about violet and purple nail polishes is they make my feet look clean. Bold colors actually make the feet look fair and fresh.

Demi is a deep shade of violet. But it's not quite purple. It's like somewhere in between violet and purple (I hope you get what I mean). It's lovely creme polish that has a matte finish.

Zoya applies easily and dries quickly, and the color lasts long. I've been wearing the polish on my toes for a week now and I don't see any sign of chipping yet.

And the best part about Zoya is, their Nail Polish formula is Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate, and Camphor Free!

I might probably buy another Zoya nail polish because the line has nice nail polish shades. But this is one thing that I don't want to be addicted to or else, I will always be in broke land!

Mom finally bought an ipod for her workout sessions. And I got myself a new pair of earphones. I'm currently using her Seinheisser earphones. And now that she finally has her own ipod, it's time to return her very nice earphones.

Noise- reducing skull candy earphones. Me likey the color very much. :)

THE VERDICT:

I know for a fact that Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick is one of her best- selling products. Apart from it being expensive, I'm not really the type of gal who would dust shimmer all over my face on a daily basis. In fact, I don't even dust shimmer all over my face even on special occasions! So I wasn't really inclined to purchase one, though the Shimmer Brick in Nectar from the Cabana Corals collection looks really enticing.

This Shimmer Brick is part of a collection. The shade and packaging are LE. The compact looks very classy, which is a signature of Bobbi Brown cosmetics. But the compact is so huge and thick, it eats up the space in my make- up kit!

Platinum Pink goes off as a silver shade with various pink undertones (rose, baby pink, light pink). And the gold- silver strip gives the color a different dimension by giving the shade a hint of gold.

Here's a pic of the shades. I've swatched per strip at the back of my hand. And the vertical strip is the outcome when all of the colors are combined.

This baby goes off REALLY shimmery. I even had to blot my face with tissue to lessen the shimmer on my face! But the good thing about it is, it actually tells me that the pigmentation of the shimmer brick is very good. This shimmer brick can also double as an eyeshadow palette.

Here's moi with the shimmer brick dusted on the apples of my cheeks and on the bridge of my nose (okay I don't have a visible nose bridge. But that's what it's called :)). It gives my face a nice illuminating effect. To achieve a natural glowing effect, be careful not to go overboard. Slowly but surely, build the shimmer on the apples of your cheeks. That way, you can control the amount of shimmer that you want to put on your face. In my opinion, this is not advisable though to dust on the clavicles because of the obvious pink undertone. I've tried this on my clavicles and it gave this HEY-LOOK-I'M-WEARING- AN-OBVIOUS- SILVER-PINK-SHIMMER-ON-MY-DECOLLETAGE-BECAUSE-IT-MAKES-ME-HOLLYWOOD-RED-CARPET-WORTHY-WOOHOO! effect. You may actually, but that's unless you want to look like bicentennial (wo)man.

I like it, but I don't love it. Because as aforementioned, I'm no fan of shining, shimmery, splendid make- ups. But I'm happy 'cos it's so sweet of mom to get this for me. It's a win- win situation for us too. She got to pick the color that she likes. If I had it my way, I'll get the Nectar Shimmer Brick. And, I've finally fed my curiosity on shimmer bricks. I don't see myself using this everyday, but I know that this will come handy as of the moment because it's summer time.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: MAC LUSTRE LIPSTICK IN FRESH SALMON

THE VERDICT:

I'm so glad I was able to acquire a piece of this sought- after and much- raved lipstick from MAC's Spring Colour Collection 2 Corals '10.

Fresh Salmon is a pink peach color with slight gold shimmer. It reminded me of my Givenchy Rouge D' Interdit. And this would be the sheer version of my Givenchy lipstick. MAC's Lustre lipsticks are buildable though sheer, and are moisturizing and a bit glossy.

There is no doubt as to why Fresh Salmon is such a popular color. It's simply beautiful! It makes my face look fresh. The peach pink shade enhances whatever youthful glow is there. And it's also a great Your-Lips-But-Better color.

Hubby even complimented the shade. He said that I look more fresh and younger- looking with lipsticks like these and I should sport the shade more often. I always prefer wearing deep and muted colors. If I'd be wearing another lipstick color, it would be red.

Unfortunately, before MAC Marionnaud officially released the collection, Fresh Salmon was already sold out, along with the blush ombres in Azalea and Ripe Peach (Waaah!)

So by any chance you see this shade available in MAC online, don't hesitate! Order your Fresh Salmon! It's worth the price and the wait.
