A HUGE SURPRISE FROM PUREDERM

Indeed, blogging has its perks! :)

Around a month ago, I received an email from someone from the Marketing department of Genso Inc., the handler of Purederm Cosmetics Korea in the Philippines. The person asked me if I'd be interested to do a review on their BB cream, and they'd send me a full- sized sample. I said yes, and the person told me to wait for the package and their confirmation email. The deal was done, and I am eagerly awaiting my free BB cream.

After a month, no BB cream came. Updating the contact person was in mind, but I kept on forgetting because I was pre- occupied with end-of-the-semester stuff. I also thought that they might have changed their mind and found a more popular blog than my blog. So I decided to let it pass.

But a pleasant surprise greeted me when I came home one Wednesday evening. There's this medium- sized box with a dainty fuschia ribbon wrapped around it lying on my bed. It also has a card saying "TO: MS. MARTHA STA. BARBARA/ THE BEAUTY JUNKEE FR: PURDERM COSMETICS" (I'll post the pics of the unopened box once I get hold of the DSLR :)).

Then the Purederm BB cream deal came to mind and thought that after all, they considered sending me their product. But it was an even bigger surprise. They sent me 18 products all in all! For a moment, I was in a state of disbelief and told myself that I am not seeing a Purederm gift pack right before me! But 'tis true! These Purederm goodies are mine!

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: MAC LIPSTICK IN PINK NOUVEAU

Here's an initial review on MAC Lipstick in Pink Nouveau

THE VERDICT:

Pink Nouveau is one of MAC's most famous lipstick shades. According to some, it's a bubbly color that you can wear without looking unnatural, and it looks good on fair and dark skin tones alike.

And it is always out of stock in our local MAC stores. Apparently, it is also a favorite of some local celebrities, according to a source.

I've been waiting for a long time to buy one but unfortunately, the stocks are always sold out a few days after they arrive in our MAC stores. And unfortunately, some MAC stores don't honor reservations. They just ask people to wait for fresh stocks.

Anyway, Lady Luck was on my side because I saw a post by Sis Shally saying that she's going to sell her newly- bought Pink Nouveau. And I sent her a message instantly and asked her to reserve the lipstick for me.

So here's my take on MAC's most sought- after pink lipstick.

Pink Nouveau is a cool pink lipstick with a slight lilac undertone. The shade of PN may vary depending on what skin tone it is worn against. On fair skinned ladies, this may appear a tad lighter, almost bubblegum pink- ish. But on morena and dark skinned girls, the lilac undertone becomes a bit obvious.

And they are right, indeed, it's a pretty shade!

IMO, Pink Nouveau is the love child of MAC's Up The Amp and Saint Germain. The latter shades might require guts to wear on a daily basis. But their lovechild, Pink Nouveau, lets you enjoy both worlds!

If you look closely, you might feel or think that Pink Nouveau might look too odd on your lips. I even thought when I first tried this on, that it makes my lips stick out in a weird way. But when I got to see my face from afar, this lipstick is actually so pretty under natural lighting! It makes tanned skin tones more radiant. And for a bright lipstick, it is unexpectedly wearable. Much more wearable than Lavender Whip!

'Scuse the eye bags. Just wanted to show everyone a photo of moi wearing Pink Nouveau. I love the fact that it makes me look girly and young. It's a refreshing break from my usual lipstick colors: red, beige, rose, brown.

I swear, it's worth purchasing a Pink Nouveau!

DUTY FREE, GREENBELT, AND POWERPLANT MALL HAULS

Shopping day for me, mom, and my brother. Bro got himself a swell G-Shock watch, while mom bought some stuff from Marks and Spencers, plus a whole lotta' chocolates, home stuff, and accessories from Bijoux Terner in Duty Free.

Acca Kappa hauls. I'm loving Muschio Bianco. It smells so fresh and clean!

By the way, MAC opened last September in Duty Free. I finally had the chance to visit it today. I saw their lipstick counter and thought that they don't have a lot of colors yet since they just opened. But the SA told me that almost all of the lippies already went out of stock. DANG! I should've went there during the opening. But as much as I want to, I can't because mom left just last week, and we can't shop there if we don't know someone who just came from an out-of-the country trip. :((((

Anyway, I'm still happy with my purchases. Boy, it's such a refreshing experience because almost all of their colors are not available in our MAC counters! Lipstick shades such as Hue, Siss, Rebel, Cyber, Tempting, etc. are there, and PRO and consumer eyeshadow shades like Swish, Goldenrod, Cranberry, etc. And lipglass shades like Love nectar, Pink Poodle, etc.

You gotta pay this MAC branch a visit because the lipsticks and eyeshadows are way cheaper than Rustans' pricing!

Going back to my hauls.

This TRF by Zara polo has haunted me ever since the first time I saw it. I kept on going back for it for 5 times. And on my 5th visit, I knew that I already have to buy it because it was the last piece in the Small sizing. It's meant for me! :)

And my new Gucci baby. :)

A second hand Gucci Monogram backapck. It's so spacious and lightweight. :) Another luxury bag added to my growing collection. I got this from Bag-Aholic New World, Makati by the way. :)
