'Tis better late than never so happy new year guys!

I went home right after picking up some groceries with mom in S&R, The Fort, Taguig. I also cooked the food for our media noche. It's just a fun night with pica- pica foods. Sorry, didn't get to take pictures because my digital camera was misplaced last night. And know where I found it? Under my beagle's doggie bed. I don't know why it friggin' got there but at least the beagle didn't chew on it!

THE VERDICT:

These two travel- sized Lancome mascaras are gifts from Hubby's parents. I totally love mascaras. And this is also my first time to use both products from Lancome.

So here's the low- down.

Both wands are in the traditional shape. Also, the mascaras are unscented and both have thick and smooth consistency.

Okay let's first apply Cils XL, which is the base coat and thickener.

Check that it did make my lash look more lush and thicker! 

Now let's coat it with Definicils.

Here's my lashes with the Cils XL and Definicils.

The Cils XL is definitely a good base for black mascaras. The white gunk dries off to a sheer finish so you don't see white chunks on my lashes.

The formula of the definicils actually lengthens lashes, which is what I don't need since my lashes are quite long. However, it did give a bit of volume to my lashes. Both are easily washed off with soap and water and they don't run- off of my lashes.

Will I buy these? Prolly not. I've always loved using Flextencils or Hypnose since both give my much needed lash treatment, which is volume.

THE VERDICT:

Okay so I've been lemming for a liquid eyeliner because it gives off a more vibrant finish as opposed to other liner forms.

I got this from The Face Shop. I've been wanting to get MAC's penultimate liner and got this instead because it's cheaper and I could pretty much gauge that this does the same thing as well. As you all know, I would never splurge on eyeliners. My latest and last splurge was MUFE's AquaEyes. After that, nothing followed.

So this pen makes liquid eyelining a breeze. It's easy and it gives off a controlled amount of the ink. And best part, it's so compact, it could even fit in your tightest jeans!

See what I mean by vibrant finish? Liquid eyeliners give a nice vibrant and glossy finish. But the quality didn't impress me.

First, it smudges like crazy. I have oily lids to I'm practically off to raccoon eyes land whenever I'm wearing with this one. I've tried using this in one of my plays and when I cried in a scene, it smudged like crazy and it dripped inside my eyes. YEAOUCH! It's so painful, as in stinging painful. After that incident, I sold it off.

It could've been love, ya know? The packaging, convenience and color pay- off, but the staying power wasn't really considered in making this one so you get the drift if I'm buying this or not.

THE VERDICT:

So I got this as one of mom's Christmas presents. I decided to give Laura Mercier a try since a lot have been raving about their flawless face kit. Besides, I wanted to explore different brands as well.

This powder is from the Mineral product line of Laura Mercier. It also comes in their flawless face kit. This pressed powder also comes in the loose form, with exactly the same shades as the ones in the pressed form.

The shade I got is Natural Beige. It is Laura Mercier's darkest powder shade in the Mineral line. 

When I tried this on the counter, it perfectly blended on my skin and it even matched my jawline and neck so that's the reason why I got this because I thought that it is exactly my shade match.

Well, natural lighting can be such a bitch.

Hmmm. Pwede na rin!

I actually think that this is too rosy for my skintone, so in effect, it looks a bit whiter than my shade. It can be compared to MAC's NC40. So to remedy this, I apply it lightly and sparingly on my face in a circular motion so as to somehow create an airbrushed effect.

It does control oil from 2- 3 hours. But I notice that it gets really greasy because I only apply it sparingly so that's why I couldn't maximize its effectiveness. It could really be effective, you know? Since the SA told me that it controls oils. But I don't wanna end up looking too white so I can't layer the powder over my face, especially since it does give off a very pigmented coverage.

Will I buy this again? No. Laura Mercier's selection  are apt for mestizas because of the pink undertones. I'll prolly get MAC and stick with it since it has NC42, which is my perfect shade match. I'm thinking of selling this but since it's mom's Christmas gift and I decided to get it anyway, I'd have to suffer the consequences. :p
